The working
Area: A = p × q ÷ 2
Perimeter: P = 4 × √((p/2)² + (q/2)²)
A = p × q ÷ 2 = 8 × 6 ÷ 2 = 24 side = √((8/2)² + (6/2)²) = 5 P = 4 × side = 20
Values in feet; areas in sq ft.
About the rhombus
Four equal sides, like a square pushed over. The diagonals cross at right angles and cut each other in half, which is why half of each makes a right triangle with a side.
